Job description

The project procurement team consists of 13 project buyers. Together with the operational buyers and the category buyers, the procurement department consists of 28 procurement colleagues. As project buyer you report to the project manager, hierarchically you fall under the purchasing manager. The position can be based either in Kaag and/or Amsterdam, depending on current projects. 

As a project buyer, you are the driving force behind the procurement of materials and services for several prestigious projects. You are the link between the project teams and the suppliers, ensuring that everything is delivered on time, within budget, and according to specifications.

• Responsible for purchasing materials, products and services varying from spend that can amount to millions of euros
• Ensuring and pursuing that all procurement processes take place within the applicable procurement procedures and closing projects
• Establishing supply conditions in terms of warranty, ownership and liability
• Responding to developments in the supplier market to ensure the most optimal price at the right time
• Determining purchasing strategies in cooperation with the category buyer
• Providing improvement processes for planning, budget and internal processes

Background

• Bachelor’s degree combined with relevant procurement certifications
• Several years of experience as a project buyer (or tactical buyer) in a technical and/or project-driven environment
• Basic legal knowledge to assess and draw up contracts and conditions
• You are a driven negotiator with excellent stakeholder management skills and a customer-oriented mindset
• Knowledge of MS Office packages, ERP/purchasing systems Navison (or similar)
• Fluent in English and willing to learn the Dutch languages
